what is industrial design?

Industrial design (id) to us, is a creative problem-solving process, which drives innovation, creates business opportunities, and leads to a better quality of life through innovative products created with the user in mind. Industrial design handles physical products, where manufacturability and resource management needs to be included and considered in the design process of any industrial product.

  • We meet and learn about your business, your purpose for industrial design, and set goals and expectations for the project.

  • We hit the books, explore the internet, and interview people in order to learn more about your industry. We also learn as much as possible about your competitors in order to inform our process and to give you the best, most unique design solution.

  • We draw out ideas to create as many concept directions as possible. We can then discuss and choose the ones that suit your needs the most.

  • We take all the selected sketches and flesh them out. We do this by further developing the sketches that we see most fitting to accomplish our targets. All the sketches will be developed at the same level of details, to ensure we can choose the optimal final concept.

  • We present the detailed concepts to you. We explain the rationale behind each concept and how they would be successful. You then provide us with your feedback and what you feel resonates best with your needs.

  • We take the concept that appealed most to you and implement the necessary revisions based on your feedback. Keeping the project goals in mind, we develop the concept into a full-fledged design. We follow up with you and may go through a second round of revision to finalize the design.

  • Depending on the project, a prototype can be outsourced and built with rapid prototyping and be include in the deliverables.

  • Once everything is approved, we send all the files to you in various formats best suited for your platform.
